Idea for a 5 minute film.
Starts off as a news programme reporting on teenage girls going missing in the area. The news reporter goes to the scene of the crime. Different news reporter is there reporting. As we zoom out of a telly we see a young boy sat there with his head in his hands.
Flashback to the night before.
The next scene is at 'Barnsley Bowl' at night. Text appears on screen saying 'The Night Before...', as we go inside we see 6 teenagers bowling, generally having a good time. A boy and a girl on the lane start having an argument, as the girl's Dad has phoned her telling her to come on and the boy argues that she hardly spends anytime with him anymore. This is the first hint that the 2 are in a relationship. The boy insists that she doesn't walk home on her own and refers to the local kidnapping which have been happening in the area, which the girl laughs off. She walks out, to the dislike of the others that are there.
As we see the girl walking home, we contrast with the rest of the teenagers having a good time at the bowling party. The girl then receives a text from 'Jordan<3' telling her to text him when she is at home. As the girl is walking up an encolsed alley way, she turns around, to see a tall burly man stood there. As she begins to scream, a bag is put over her head. Fades to black.
As we fade in from black we see a dark cellar and not much lighting. As it pans around the room the same man that kidnaps her is sat in the corner. As the girl starts spitting insults at him and asking what she has done with the other girls. We here a door slam. As we look up the stairs we see a young man stood there, and instantly you can tell the mental instabillity of him. As his face comes from the darkness, the girl realises that it is a boy called Ben who she rejected so she could be with Jordan. Sudden realisation from the girl that Ben kidnapped all the girls that rejected him. This would be the point in the film where we find out the girl's name is Laura. In a flashback we see Ben asking Laura to the prom, in which Laura just laughs and walks away.
As they sit in the cellar, Laura tied up, they talk about the other girls that have been kidnapped. Ben explains that he killed them and that he plans to kill Laura too. At which point Laura begins to panic.
Needed to think of a possible way in which Jordan would find where Laura is being held.
As he finds her, he goes down to see her all alone. Unties her. Embrace. Yet as we pan up to the top of the stairs to see Ben stood there, the film cuts to black and the titles start appearing. In the sound we here gunshots and Laura screaming. The news programme comes on again, at the side of the credits and the News reporter explains that Jordan has been shot and Laura has been left critically injured and is intensive care.
End photo of Jordan + Laura at the prom. Possible mention of what happened to Ben and the kidnapper, whose name is never revealed.
We originally liked this idea, but decided against it because it would mean relying on too many people, espescially for the bowling party. Also this sort of film is done quite often and it could make it quite hard to make it quite appealing and keep the audience gripped for the full 5 minutes, thus why we decided against it.
